Leymebamba: Cataneo – Molinete – Congona

You have to make your way through orchids, bushes and bromeliads to reach some of the buildings that the site has in its extension. You have to go through mysterious passageways and rooms, discover the characteristic Chachapoya friezes – the rhombus, the zigzag and the stepped one – under the mosses and ferns. And you have to look out to the highest places to have a 360° view, to marvel at the human capacity to carry out works of this magnitude in the most isolated, remote and difficult places in the territory.

5:00 am Departure from Chachapoyas

7:00 am Arrival in Leymebamba and take breakfast

7:30 am Depart by car to the town of Pomacochas

8:00 am Start of walk through the Las Palmas sector

9:00 am Beginning of the tour of the archaeological center of Cataneo

10:30 am End of the Cataneo tour and walk to the Molinete archaeological center

11:00 am Beginning of the tour of the Molinete Archaeological Center

11:40 am End of the tour of the Molinete Archaeological Center and start the walk to Congona

01:10 pm Beginning of the tour of the Congona archaeological center

02:20 pm End of the tour of the La Congona archaeological center and start the walk to the town of La Fila

3:30 pm Arrival at the town of La Fila and return to Leymebamba

4:00 pm Arrival in Leymebamba and take lunch

5:00 pm Return to Chachapoyas

7:00 pm Arrival to Chachapoyas
