Day 1
CHACHAPOYAS – KUÉLAP – LEYMEBAMBA MUSEUM

After breakfast in Chachapoyas we will go by private vehicle towards the fortified citadel of Kuelap, after about 45” we will arrive at the archaeological zone of Macro, sighting and explanation of the housing complex, then we will continue in our mobility for approximately 2 hours. We will pass towns such as Nuevo Tingo, Choctamal, Longuita and María, to finally reach the Kuelap fortress, we will visit different places such as the ceremonial enclosures, the main temple, circular rooms, etc. Then we will taste lunch, we will move to Leymebamba there we will visit the museum. of Leymebamba Mallqui center, in its interiors it keeps more than 2000 objects, 200 mummies and an interesting collection of Quipus material recovered and brought from the mausoleums of the Laguna de los Cóndores, the museum also exhibits ceramic textiles and weapons from ancient Peruvian cultures . , transfer to the hostel in Leymebamba, overnight.

Day 2
LEYMEBAMBA – LAGUNA DE LOS CÓNDORES

Breakfast at the hotel. Next we will begin our trekking that will make us cross several ecological floors with a great variety of flora and fauna. After 9 hours of walking, we will arrive at the incredible lagoon of the condors, also called lagoon of the mummies. It is there where more than 200 intact mummies were rescued in 1996. The most important archaeological treasure of Peru.
Overnight in a traditional cabin. Meals included (lunch = box lunch + Dinner).

Unevenness: +1400m / -700m.
Trekking time: 9 hrs.

Day 3
LAGUNA DE LOS CÓNDORES – MAUSOLEUMS OF THE LAGOON

In the morning, we will go to the mausoleums where the mummies were found. These are located on a ledge located on the immense rock that dominates the lagoon. These are six mausoleums decorated with paintings that housed, in addition to the mummies, numerous archaeological material: fine textiles, ceramics, wood carvings, quipus, decorated mates, feather crowns,...This material is today found in the museum of Leymebamba created especially to display and store it. This rock still houses numerous intact mausoleums, difficult to access but which can be seen through binoculars.
In the afternoon, you can enjoy your time fishing for trout or walking around the lagoon to observe the ecological characteristics of the cloud forests (orchids, bromeliads, palm trees and giant ferns).
Night in the cabin. Meals included (breakfast, lunch = box lunch + Dinner).

Day 4
LAGUNA DE LOS CÓNDORES – LEYMEBAMBA – CHACHAPOYAS

After breakfast, we will return to Leymebamba.
Transfer by private vehicle to Chachapoyas.

Unevenness: +700m / -1400m.
Trekking time: 8 hrs.
Travel time: 3 hrs.
